I am adding a little more information on the "partnership" I believe occurs when working intuitively with nonverbal people with autism. It is and always has been difficult for me to explain what is occurring. However, I believe those on this list are more apt to understand my meager attempts at explaining the occurrence that the general population. I thank you once again for this venue.
When working with students with nonverbal autism, "the relationship" based on mutual trust, acceptance allows each of us the presence of mind of the other in non-judgmental terms. "The expressive self " is a rare yet powerful telephone line that conveys messages usually unattainable by either personality independently. I speculate; I have received much of the same capacity when I Intuitively mind and transcribe without discrimination, still knowing that my anticipatory thoughts are but part of the process. This “ego” interference is an essential stumbling block to convey these messages of reality through me. Yet, I feel entitled to allow messages to flow as I am in a needed partnership with my friends with severe autism. These Intermingled thought influence the outpour of information. I accept that truth and look forward to the day when it will be studied.
I suspect, there are no original thoughts; just, new modes of expression of "innate truths" of ancient ideas often lost by more integrated souls. If I strive to keep my "telephone line" available to a higher level of vibration, I believe they will continue to come through me. I am neither master nor slave, rather, a member of a team. As nonverbal individuals, my friends with autism are also members of that team, neither more nor less significant than I am. When I am in a state of deepest knowing, knowing that their essence is with me, I think I can transcribe just as easily as when they are physically present as I open myself to the wonder and richness of spirit connected collaboration.
Do not waste wisdom on those unwilling to breathe new thought with old ideas! Those who wait may initially reap the rewards of skillful restraint, but ultimately must step forward to be counted. Human beings are all capable of greatness. Extreme paralysis occurs out of fear of failure or ridicule.
I implore those at the forefront of ideation on this topic to come forward and share the richness of these souls who have welcomed us into their world. To remain silent limits both all. Know it is time to swallow your pride, admit your misconceptions, and explore the magnitude of the phenomena.
