Upon this fair world has descended a blight
a decease so grievous-a horrendous plight
sickening mans heart, dimming and blinding his sight.
In every society, in every land
it makes it's perfidious stand
everywhere is raised it's evil head.
It takes no thought for life or moral law
it's law is that of knife and claw
to once more rend and revel in war.
Material power and ceaseless greed
O how subtle is the spread of it's seed./
It grows and spreads like the weed./
Ancient, so very ancient it's evil creeds
tenacious and all-encompassing it breeds./
How it gloats and delights in its amoral deeds.
But drawing to an end is it's reign,
it's ages old power is on the wane
as greater and greater numbers of the righteous, the loving,
the compassionate wield the sword of truth and light,
until that dark blight be once and for all utterly slain./
