It's been a while since picking up a psychic development book. I have read quite a few over the years when attempting to navigate my way through the many paths one inadvertently takes when seeking spiritual knowledge. For some it can take a while before we know which path is truly ours. For me it wasn't really about learning to be a psychic or become a medium, even though I had such an amazing drive to work in this way in the beginning.
Through my owns trials and experiences, my journey seems to have been about learning and sharing knowledge and in some small way (I hope), to gain wisdom, which I feel is very important when placed in a position to help others find their path. Which is one of the reasons for setting up TheSpiritGuides.co.uk website.
The reason for this blurb is to share my review on a wonderful psychic development book I received last week, titled
the Gift - From Spiritual Wealth to Financial Wealth by Elizabeth Francis.
The book has real sound knowledge about developing one's psychic abilities in a way that doesn't treat the advance readers to suck eggs but also not failing to engage the fledgling psychics with responsible and well-grounded material. I especially loved the chapters that helped people recognise whether they were either too grounded or too head-in-the-clouds. Like most things in life it’s about balance. Becoming a discerning soul I have had to learn the hard way over the years. Trying to be too tuned into the clouds isn't always the best policy as there is a time and place to let the mind wander which the book covers so well.
The book also has an excellent chapter on using the tarot and discovering the many meanings that work best for you. You get a sense when reading the book that Elizabeth has very deep-seated knowledge on many esoteric subjects which she touches on gently without moving away from the scope of the book.
If I had to compare this psychic development book with others on the market, I would say that it's very different and unique in that respect. It is covering more mature material but don't let this put you off as it's put across in a very responsible but easy going way. It's so important to help people discern and ground themselves when working in this way, especially in the beginning when we are our most vulnerable.
I really feel it's the book that has been missing on many a psychic's bookshelves. I have read most of the famous psychic's manuals on such things, which seem to recycle the same old steps. This book really opened my eyes to new concepts and even allowed me to see myself in a different light, which was very refreshing.
The author could easily fill a second book so I look forward to reading further material from Elizabeth in the near future.
Best wishes
Ian
